The Ciutat Vella and its charming points of interest form an essential tour, but not the only one that defines Valencia. If we stand in the Torre de Serranos, northern limit of the city center, and we began to move towards the northwest by the Paseo de la Pechina itself, after a good walk we will reach a large wooded area, the Parque de la Cabecera.

In addition to being a busy place to walk and enjoy nature, a little further north is the Bioparc de Valencia, the huge open zoo that is recreations of African animal habitats, like lions, gorillas and elephants.

If after that you have been more eager, then we can continue further west, where we will find the neighborhood of Mislata and a pleasant walk in it and, between highways, the river Turia and its beginning of mouth, que concluirá en la zona este de Valencia.

Maritime settlements, Cabañal and beaches

The eastern region of Valencia is made up of the Maritime Villages, the most renowned transatlantic complex in the city, where it connects with the Cabañal nautical district- Cañamelar and its beach, in addition to the beaches of Malvarrosa and Las Arenas, among others. It is an ideal area for walking, enjoy the sea breeze and its waters, besides being one of the favorite places to try Valencian paellas.

On its borders is the mouth of the Turia River and the beginning of the Balearic Sea, donde en la lejanía podremos vislumbrar las Islas Baleares y la zona nordeste de África.

El Saler and the Albufera Natural Park

What most characterizes the southern area of Valencia before moving on to the Alicante area, are the natural environments that surround it and among them it is worth highlighting El Saler and the Albufera Natural Park, the closest to the city (to some 10 km) and the most important.

This first is formed by the maritime neighborhood of Saler and its river walk between dunes to the Natural Park, ideal for bike tours, where you can enjoy full nature.

On the other hand, situada más abajo, there is the Albufera Natural Park. It is a beautiful wild expanse full of dunes, pinares, rice fields and an exquisite biodiversity, surrounded by the large freshwater lake of Albufera. Its views and its possible transfers by boat offer a great tourist attraction, And you cannot miss its sunsets!

To access the Natural Park, We can choose to take either buses from the line 24 (with a stop in El Palmar, the nearest destination), or the line 25 which will leave us in El Perellonet if we want to take a slightly longer walk. And if you prefer a complete experience that takes us inside the Park, The Albufera Bus Turístic will always be at our disposal!
